![]() The hotel ended up being around the corner from my local office and less than 30 minutes by Uber/Lyft from the Kansas City airport. That's how I found the Ambassador Hotel on a recent work trip to Kansas City. When I travel for work, I also am looking the best rate and the Marriott Bonvoy app makes it easy to search for hotels offering special rates in my destination. Recently, I decided to lean into hotel loyalty programs because of the benefits that accrue fairly quickly. There were snacks and mini-fridge that came with fun mixed cocktails for the end of a long day on the road. The bathroom was enormous with a beautiful walk-in, granite shower. ![]() Perhaps because of the old construction, but my room was incredibly quiet and peaceful. I had a corner king room (for a slightly higher rate) that was enormous and offered a large comfortable work desk, a love seat and very comfy bed. The lobby/bar/restaurant area is stylish and welcoming. I stayed in the original building, which has been beautifully restored. The Ambassador is comprised of an historical or original building and a new adjacent wing. It's well located downtown near the Power and Light District and a short walk to the KC Streetcar, which is Kansas City's enormously popular and successful free transit option that runs conveniently between River Market and Union Station, with plans to extend on to the Country Club Plaza. ![]() ![]() ![]()
